Raw materials for pyrolysis
As the running video shows, the process flow of the biochar pyrolysis plant is roughly divided into four stages: raw material pretreatment, carbonization (pyrolysis), utilization of combustible gas and cooling:
First, the biomass raw materials to be processed need to be crushed and dried according to the particle size and moisture content of the raw materials. Usually, in order to meet the needs of continuous production, the raw materials need to be crushed and the particle size must be ensured to be within 30 mm. The processed biomass raw materials are sent to the preheating and drying part of the equipment. At this stage, the raw materials are heated to a certain temperature to remove the moisture in them and prepare for the subsequent carbonization process. It is recommended that the moisture content of the raw materials is less than 15%.
The pretreated biomass raw materials enter the carbonization chamber through the feeding system. Under high temperature (400℃~600℃) and oxygen-free conditions, the heat source heats the pyrolysis device, and the biomass raw materials undergo pyrolysis in the pyrolysis equipment, and are eventually converted into charcoal, combustible gas and other by-products, such as wood vinegar and tar.

The gas produced by the biochar pyrolysis machine is directly transported to the burner for combustion. Part of the gas is burned and catalyzed, and the remaining gas is heated to continue to provide heat for the pyrolysis device and drying furnace. After that, these gases are filtered and cooled and discharged through the chimney.
The generated charcoal needs to go through a cooling system to lower the temperature for safe handling and storage. Generally speaking, the cooling temperature needs to be controlled below 50 degrees. The main purpose of the cooling stage is to reduce the temperature of the charcoal, prevent the charcoal from spontaneous combustion, and ensure the quality and safety of the product. The cooled charcoal has good structural stability, high energy density, and higher value.
